Meet Matthew, a proud Texas A&M Aggie who joined GTCC about three years ago. Matthew’s favorite part of his job is being part of a process that fuels economic growth, creates jobs, and strengthens East Texas by empowering local entrepreneurs.
Matthew’s background spans from working with small business owners, to nonprofit leadership, and higher education. The common thread is his passion for rooting for the underdog and building/growing programs that support people and their dreams.
In the community, you may find Matthew supporting various local nonprofits organizations, serving as a Board Member for the Tyler Economic Development Council, Tyler Museum of Art, and the Caldwell Arts Alliance, as well as President Elect for Leadership Tyler’s Board of Directors.
Outside of work and community roles, Matthew is a family man who loves spending time with his wife and son, and being outside; playing golf, cycling, camping, running – and has successfully completed two Ironman triathlons.
Fun Fact: You may be surprised to learn that Matthew launched Texas’s first Promise Program before joining GTCC. He says that experience of building something from the ground up taught him how powerful creative partnerships can be.
